After School Backpack Program
Imagine being 8 years old and dreading the weekend—not because of schoolwork, but because there might not be anything to eat at home. That’s the reality for hundreds of kids in Jackson County.
Through Compassionate Ministries of Jackson County’s After School Backpack Program last year, we sent home bags of food every Friday to nearly 800 children across 32 schools—kids who’ve been identified by school staff as being at risk of going hungry over the weekend. We also support food pantries in local middle and high schools so no student is left behind.
Just $99 ensures one child has meals every weekend for the entire school year.
Will you be the reason a child doesn’t go hungry this weekend?
